A new era begins

Our new building is ready for the future

More room for innovation and efficiency

Our drive drives our customers' successes.

The opening of a new plant often marks a turning point in the development of a company. It is a bold step into the future that is eagerly awaited. For us at Mounting Systems, this moment was not only exciting but also extremely important, as we want to guarantee our customers a better delivery time as well as better availability. In this blog article, we would like to give you a behind-the-scenes look at the benefits we have achieved through our recent expansion.

More space, more possibilities. Our modern production and warehouse building was officially inaugurated recently. Close to our headquarters, we now have an additional production facility with an impressive total area of 25,677 square meters. Of this, Unit 2 (storage area) accounts for a proud 10,175 square meters and Unit 3 (production area) for a generous 5,116 square meters. In addition, approximately 2,175.88 square meters of office and ancillary space were created to ensure efficient coordination of all logistical aspects.

A mezzanine area of approximately 1,278.90 square meters was also used as a storage area and helps maximize our storage capacity. These premises offer us double the capacity for the material produced and a large storage area where the goods can be well stored.

Mounting Systems on course for expansion

We are looking forward to being able to supply our customers and business partners even faster and more efficiently. The expansion not only opens up spatial possibilities for us, but also a wealth of new perspectives. Thanks to the improved infrastructure, we now have better access to the highway, resulting in a more efficient supply chain. Our order logistics are excited about the possibilities offered by our new Plant 2 and are ready to process all orders with maximum precision and efficiency as usual.

"The location of our logistics area in this new building allows us to plan and coordinate all deliveries for our customers and partners even more efficiently. We have installed special ramps that enable safe loading of the trucks. This has not only optimized our logistics processes, but also significantly shortened the entire delivery process," explains Antje Mosch, Team Leader Order Logistics.

This expansion has the additional positive effect of creating further jobs on the labor market. The increase in production capacity and thus faster order processing for customers was our drive for this investment.

We would like to thank our customers and partners for their support and trust and look forward to new, exciting projects in the future. You are cordially invited to visit us at the new location. Stay up to date and don't miss any of our updates.

Steel structures on a sturdy foundation

After a thorough assessment of the ground conditions, 2,770 special concrete foundation piles, each five meters long and weighing three tons, were driven into the ground. Once a stable foundation had been created, the steel systems were installed. Depending on the application, three different types of steel structures were assembled from standardized components - two structures for one car with three PV modules vertically and one structure for two cars (facing each other) with five PV modules vertically. The hot-dip galvanized structures in combination with the robust concrete foundations guarantee a solid and reliable carport system for more than 25 years.

Outdoor system for the optimized bifacial Use

Mounting systems for the largest solar carport in the world

Monofacial photovoltaic modules, which receive solar radiation only from the front of the module, have long been the prevailing industry standard. In recent years, however, the focus has increasingly been on bifacial PV modules, which offer many new possibilities and advantages to their installers. The biggest difference between mono-facial and bifacial modules in practice is that bifacial modules are able to collect reflected and diffuse solar radiation from the back of the module as well.

Depending on many factors, such as installation height, the reflectivity (albedo) of the subsurface, shading of adjacent rows, and the amount of diffuse radiation, the additional bifacial yield can be as high as 30%. Since 2014, bifacial installations have increased rapidly, and there appears to be no end in sight. Some estimates suggest an increase of up to 60% in the near future, which means that bifacial solar systems could become the new industry standard.

Sigma II for bifacial use

The Sigma II system from Mounting Systems

At Mounting Systems, we have optimized our substructures accordingly to respond to the growing demand for bifacial systems. Our excellent bipartite Sigma II Ground-mounted system is specially designed to avoid shading on the back of the modules. The fixed mounting system is highly adaptable, allowing for a fully customized design. The ease of installation together with the corrosion resistance make the system a wise investment and guarantees a long life.

In addition, the system enables multiple module configurations. Depending on the specific requirements of a project, different foundations such as driven piles, ground screws or base plates can be used. Like all our other mounting systems, the Sigma II is developed and produced under certified sustainability standards and the components are easy to dismantle and recycle.

High-quality tracker technology in implementation: Tata, Hungary

Mounting systems for the largest solar carport in the world

Hungary - an attractive solar market

As in many other countries in Europe, solar power is becoming more and more popular in Hungary. According to the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), Hungary had reached a total of 1.28 GWp of installed solar power by the end of 2019. Solar Future Hungary also notes that 2018 was a record year with an impressive 700 MWp of cumulative photovoltaic capacity installed. The supportive political landscape around renewable energy and solar power continue to support the development.

Mounting Systems GmbH present in Hungary through a new project

We at Mounting Systems Ltd. also had the opportunity to contribute our performance to the development of Hungarian solar energy. We have expanded our project spectrum through a successful Sigma Tracker -expanded project. The ground-mounted project was carried out in Tata, Hungary, about 70 km northwest of Budapest. Mounting Systems GmbH supplied the mounting systems for the solar park of our partner Photon Energy delivered. The park, which was commissioned in March of this year, has a total reading of 4.31 MWp and is equipped with 10,608 half-cell modules. The modules were installed in portrait format. The single-axis Sigma Tracker system was used as the mounting system. The technology of the system is flexible adaptable and reliable. The need for maintenance is low.

As usual, the PV mounting systems were delivered pre-assembled by trucks directly to the construction site. Due to the pre-assembled components, a simple and quick assembly of the mounting system could thus be ensured. The self-locking technology of the Sigma Tracker guarantees excellent stability in difficult weather conditions. As a result, wind speeds of 260 km/h can be withstood. As a monitoring system, our Sigma View online tool provides real-time statistics on the operation of the entire solar farm.
