Project of the Month - Coevordenkanaal, Netherlands

MSY Group delivered the next interesting project to our partner Belectric in the Netherlands. Challenging ground and complicated environmental conditions made our Sigma II the best possible solution for this project. With 13 MWp installed capacity, it is another contribution to the energy transition in Europe... and there will be more!

Many thanks to our partner, Belectric GmbH, Kolitzheim and their exceptional team! It was great to work with you!

Excellent work - well done, team!
New Sigma Tracker project in Bulgaria put into operation

Today we finally have the next Sigma Tracker-Project put into operation. MSY Group, the European specialist in medium and large-scale PV tracking solutions, has commissioned the next challenging tracker project in Southeast Europe. With a total capacity of 66 MWp, it is the largest solar tracker project in Southeast Europe and the first for an IPP.

This project combines state-of-the-art technologies and applications, such as:

  • Unconstrained bifaciality to maximize backside gain.
  • Mechanically stiffened frame structure for particularly large-format modules to prevent unexpected mechanical impacts on the modules
  • Self-locking features on each post to improve system robustness
  • Web-enabled user interfaces and cloud-based data storage to ensure future compatibility
  • AI-based functional routines in tracking and adjusting to environmental conditions to increase project yields
  • Industry-standard automation components to ensure long-term operability

Planned expected settlement phenomena in the structure and required low embedment depths were the outstanding features of this project in Malaysia. On behalf of BayWa r.e., we supplied this landfill project with Sigma II frames. For this purpose, the frames were equipped with a flexible adjustment to compensate for medium-term subsidence phenomena.

The Boguslav solar plant is located in the Kiev region of central Ukraine. The plant, which provides 61 GWh of energy per year and will supply 27,000 thousand households with electricity, was realized with our adaptable Sigma II PV mounting system.

In addition, 24,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions can be avoided each year thanks to the solar park. Our project partner Scatec Solar operates, maintains and manages the plant.

Mounting Systems has supplied the first Egyptian solar tracker project in Benban with the second generation Sigma Tracker system. In cooperation with ib vogt, the two Berlin-based companies installed a project scope of 130 MWp and 1,500 Sigma Tracker systems, respectively. The Sigma Tracker was developed for use in extreme environmental conditions and is selected for projects like the one in Benban for this reason. The technical advantages of the Tracker system are particularly evident in terms of durability, the use of standard industrial components and the simplicity of installation.

Goussaincourt, France - Sigma II

In Goussaincourt, France, Mounting Systems supplied the Sigma II installation systems for a project built in collaboration with Bouygues ES. Due to the hard ground, our Sigma II was chosen as it was perfectly suited with its height adjustable split post. This, along with the relatively small cross-section of the posts, allowed for fast and efficient pre-drilling. More than 18,000 boreholes, which were backfilled with the excavated material to drive the posts, were thus drilled in less than 3 months.

Akadyr, Kashakhstan - Sigma II

Mounting Systems supplied the highly adaptable Sigma II ground-mounted system made of steel for a solar park of GOLDBECK SOLAR GmbH in Kazakhstan. The special feature of the Akadyr II project was that bifacial modules were used together with the bifacial-optimized mounting system, which guarantees maximum bifacial gain. The bifacial substructures, the high angle of inclination and the high ground clearance ensured that shading effects on the rear of the modules could be avoided.
